Botulinum toxin “BOTox”

Soften fine lines and wrinkles and achieve natural results with doctor-delivered “botox” injections

about Botox treatment

Botulinum Toxin A is a naturally occurring protein that disrupts the neurotransmission between your nerve endings and muscles. Subsequently, your facial muscles will not move as much and therefore cannot “wrinkle” the skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are reduced.

Some people worry that “botox” will result in a frozen face. However, by using premium products and a gentle approach, Dr Hannah is able to help you achieve subtle, natural and elegant results.

Botulinum Toxin is a “prescription-only medication”. As an experienced doctor, Dr Hannah’s number one priority is the safety of her patients. She is able to use her extensive medical experience to ensure this medication is appropriate and safe for you, take full ownership of your treatment journey, as well as achieving beautiful results.

KinDRed Skin Treatments - Botox

At kinDRed skin, your treatment journey always starts with a thorough consultation with an experienced Doctor. Taking your medical history into account, we will listen carefully to understand your concerns and agree on a personalised treatment plan to help you reach your aesthetic goals.

We never employ a “cookie-cutter” approach and always treat everyone and every face with a bespoke treatment plan.

A “botox” treatment involves tiny and near-painless injections into specific muscles in the face. You will be able to return to normal activities straight away and there is no downtime.

Common areas to treat are forehead, frown and crow’s feet lines.

Dr Hannah is also experienced in treating more advanced areas including brow lift, bunny lines, nefertiti neck lift, neck bands, downturned mouth, gummy smile, dimpled chin, lip flip, “smoker’s lines”, masseter (facial slimming), jelly roll (under eye roll).

Results become visible within a few days (reaching a maximum at around 2 weeks) and will last around 3 – 6 months.

“Botox” is a very common treatment and, when administered by an experienced doctor, unwanted effects are rare. At your consultation, we will discuss any risks clearly with you so that you can make an informed decision and know exactly when and how to contact us if you have any concerns. We never simply give you a consent form to sign without verbally explaining the treatment and risks. At kinDRed skin, you will always be treated by a doctor who is highly experienced in diagnosing and treating any complications, should they rarely arise.

After your treatment, you will be emailed with detailed aftercare information so that you can refer to it at any time.

As a general guide, you should avoid the following after your treatment: touching the area or applying make-up for 4 hours, getting sweaty for 24 – 48 hours (eg. sauna, strenuous exercise), firm massage or pressure on the treated area for 48 hours and excessive alcohol for 24 hours.

You will be offered a complimentary follow up appointment 2 – 3 weeks after your treatment. This is an opportunity to check the results and tweak slightly if needed.

Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and meticulous, but she’s a an all round lovely person with a wonderful bedside manner. As a fellow doctor, and having never had any treatment like this before, I was a bit nervous before my first session. However she reassured me completely, and I haven’t looked back since. How does “botox” treatment work?

Anti-wrinkle injections have been used as a treatment for decades. The protein in the injection interferes with the neurotransmission between your nerve endings and muscles. Subsequently, your facial muscles will not move as much and therefore cannot “wrinkle” the skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are reduced.

What areas can be treated with “botox”?

Dr Hannah is experienced in offering a range of advanced treatments including:

Wrinkle reduction in the frown, forehead and crow’s feet

Bunny lines

Brow lift

Nefertiti neck lift (helping to improve jaw definition)

Neck bands (platysmal bands)

Dimpled chin

Lip flip

Perioral lines (smoker’s lines)

Masster muscle (facial slimming)

Jelly roll (under eye roll)

Some forms of facial asymmetry (eg, brows, smile)

Does “botox” hurt?

At kinDRed skin, Dr Hannah invests in the finest needles available on the market so the treatment is near-painless and bruising is rare. Even people with needle phobia often find “botox” treatment completely manageable.

When will I see results after “botox”?

It will take a few days for the treatment to start working. Full results are seen at 2 weeks.

How much does “botox” cost?

The cost of botulinum toxin treatment depends on the location and number of areas you have treated. The cost starts from £175. Full details of prices are available here

What kind of botulinum toxin do you use?

At kinDRed skin we only use UK approved botulinum toxin from trusted pharmacies. We are experienced in using different premium brands such as Bocouture, Azzalure and Botox. This is important as the very best results can sometimes only be achieved by having access to different brands. Dr Hannah can also treat with Alluzience which is a new form of botulinum toxin which has a quicker action and increased longevity.

Why do different clinics charge different amounts for “botox” treatment?

In the UK, botulinum toxin is a “prescription only medicine”. However, there is unfortunately very little regulation in the UK and patients are frequently treated by non-prescribers and sometimes with products illegally brought in from abroad.

At kinDRed skin, we strongly believe that only experienced medical professionals who are prescribers should administer “botox” treatment. At kinDRed skin, you will be looked after by an experienced Bristol doctor throughout your treatment journey, from initial consultation, to treatment and aftercare. As experienced physicians, we are able to fully assess your medical suitability, use our knowledge of anatomy and pharmacology to treat you safely and have the skills to manage any complications, should they rarely occur.

In general, cheaper treatments are offered by people with little or no medical experience who aren’t able to independently manage complications.

We believe in offering you the safest treatments in luxury surroundings while keeping our pricing reasonable and affordable.

Can I have my initial consultation and treatment a the same appointment?

We feel that it is best practice for you to have an initial consultation and then have a “cooling off” period so that you can have a chance to reflect on all the information before booking in for a treatment, if you choose to. However, in certain situations, such as having experienced the same treatment before or if you feel you have had enough opportunity to make a balanced decision, you may be able to have a treatment on the same day as your consultation.

Is there any reason that I shouldn’t have “botox” treatment?

Dr Hannah will take a full medical history and assess your suitability for treatment. Botulinum treatment cannot be given if you are pregnant or breast feeding, you have a neuromuscular condition (eg. myasthenia gravis), you have a skin infection at the site of injection, you have an allergy to botulinum toxin or are taking certain antibiotics called aminoglycosides. Oral anticoagulation treatment (blood thinners) is not necessarily a contraindication to treatment. Dr Hannah will assess you individually.

Do you treat men?

We treat many patients, including men, who love the way that subtle aesthetic treatments can make them feel, save them time and improve their skin health.

Some clinics charge a surcharge for “botox” in men due to them having a greater muscle bulk. However, we believe in gender equality at kinDRed skin and we will not charge you differently based on how you identify your gender.
