“I’ve had a couple of annoying benign skin lesions for years including skin tags and moles. I spoke to my GP but they told me that removal for these lesions wasn’t available on the NHS. I came to see Dr Hannah for Cryopen. Not only was this treatment painless, the lesions have now completely disappeared.”
faqs
Is CryoPen painful?
The treatment is very comfortable. You will be aware of a cold air sensation. As the lesion becomes fully frozen, you may notice a sharper/colder sensation and at that point, the clinician will stop.
Can I have more than one lesion treated at once?
Yes, you can have several lesions treated in one session.
Can I have a treatment at the same time as my initial consultation?
CryoPen consultations and lesion assessment are charged at the usual consultation rate. You will always be given the option to have a “cooling off period” after your consultation. However, if you feel you have all the information to make an informed decision, there may be the opportunity to treat the lesion at the initial consultation.
Why choose kinDRed skin for CryoPen treatment?
When it comes to removing skin lesions, we believe that this should be done by experienced medical professionals. Dr Hannah is an experienced GP and so will ensure that only benign lesions are treated. She will advise you accordingly if there is any concern about the lesion.
kinDRed skin used the superior CryoPen O device which is only available to medical professionals.
How many treatments will I need?
Many beign skin lesions can be removed with a single session. However, larger or stubborn lesions (such as verrucae) can need subsequent treatments. For lesions on the face, it may be prudent to treat more cautiously over 2 sessions.
Can I have CryoPen if I have dark skin?
People with darker skin can have CryoPen. They will be more likely to develop pigment changes after the treatment, which can be permanent.
What follow up is needed?
A follow up appointment is usually needed after 2-4 weeks. A further treatment may be given at that appointment if needed.
How much does CryoPen cost?
CryoPen is priced individually as everyone will have a different number and size of lesions that they would like to treat.
The initial consultation and lesion assessment is charged at the usual consultation rate.
CryoPen treatment starts from £100.
If a second freeze is required, this is charged at half the initial price.
