Exosomes are small vesicles that are naturally produced by cells and contain various bio molecules such as proteins, lipids and nucleic acids. They play a role in cell to cell communication and have been found to be powerful in stimulating skin regeneration, hair growth and reducing inflammation in the skin.

Please arrive with no make-up if possible. The treatment starts with a skin cleanse and then application of numbing cream. The SkinPen device is then guided over the desired area with the application of E50 exosomes.

The depth of the SkinPen microneedles will be adjusted during your treatment depending on the area and skin condition being treated.

After the treatment, your skin may be a little red and feel tight. You will be given a complimentary biocellulose mask and FDA approved post-treatment products to optimise results and calm the skin.

The redness usually resolves within 24 hours. You are then likely to have some mild flaking of the skin for up to 2 weeks (usually much less than this).

The treatment can be used virtually anywhere on the face, neck and body.

A special exosome E-50 “hair” product, which is cultivated in embryonic stem cell media, is used to stimulate hair re-growth.

Minimal downtime but your skin may be a little red for the first 12 – 24 hours. It can feel a bit like a sunburn. You are advised to avoid makeup and sunscreen for 24 hours.

You can minimise downtime with a post-procedure Dermalux LED session and by using the post-procedure products.

Can I have SkinPen with Exosomes treatment in the summer?

Yes! SkinPen can be used at all times of year. Just be aware that you can’t use sunscreen for 24 hours after a treatment and you will need to be extra careful in the sun for 72 hours.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare before I have a SkinPen with Exosomes treatment?

Please stop all active and irritating skincare ingredients for 24hours before your treatment (eg. retinoids, tretinoin, vitamin C serum, salicylic/glycolic/lactic acid).

Avoid having botulinum toxin and dermal fillers within 2 weeks before treatment.

Avoid sun excessive sun exposure/sunburn for a week before treatment.

Please arrive to your appointment with a clean, make-up free face if possible.

Is there any reason that I shouldn’t have a SkinPen treatment with Exosomes?

You should avoid SkinPen if you are pregnant/breast feeding, have an active skin infection/ skin cancer/sunburn in the treatment area, have a clotting disorder, taking an oral retinoid (eg.roaccutane, isotretinoin) currently or in the last 6 months or have active severe acne/pustules.

You should not have Exosome treatment if you are allergic to fish or a Vegan.

It is safe on all skin tones, Fitzpatrick types I-VI.

However, if you have more significant skin concerns such as deeper static wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring or stretch marks, then a course of 3 – 4 treatments, 1 month apart is advisable.

How do I maintain my results?

After an initial treatment or course of treatments, you will usually be advised to have a single treatment every 6 months to maintain optimum results.

If you absolutely love SkinPen, it is safe to have treatments as frequently as every 4-6 weeks long term.
